Job Opportunity : Inspector I
The City of Lebanon is currently accepting applications for the following vacant position : Inspector I. This role falls under the Codes Administration department and will remain open until filled. The primary duties include investigating complaints of nuisance or property maintenance violations, coordinating with other departments such as fire, police, and public works, and documenting violations, issuing citations, and working with property owners to achieve compliance. Additionally, the role requires preparing case files, records, and reports, and providing excellent customer service by educating property owners and / or residents about municipal nuisance codes.
Qualifications for this position include a high school diploma or equivalent accreditation along with two (2) years of experience in a multi-tasking, high public contact work environment. Prior code / nuisance enforcement experience is preferred but not required; or a high school diploma or equivalent accreditation plus three (3) years of experience in an Equipment Technician II job classification with the City of Lebanon or municipal government entity.
Licensing / certification required includes a valid driver's license. We are seeking someone who can handle conflict with diplomacy and tact, work independently, has good time management skills, strong communication skills both verbally and in writing, and is comfortable working outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
