Our client, a well-established accounting firm in Wexford, PA, is seeking an experienced Tax Preparer to join their team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong technical knowledge of individual and business tax preparation, and the ability to manage the entire process from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities of the Tax Preparer Role :

Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts.

The Tax Preparer will conduct end-to-end tax preparation, including gathering client information, performing data entry, reconciling financial documents, and reviewing returns for accuracy.

Identify potential tax credits and deductions to ensure accurate and optimized filings.

The Tax Preparer will maintain compliance with current tax laws and regulations while meeting deadlines.

Communicate directly with clients to obtain necessary documentation, clarify information, and provide exceptional service.

Support clients with tax planning strategies and assist in responding to IRS or state correspondence as needed.

Qualifications of the Tax Preparer Role

3+ years of tax preparation experience (individual and small business).

Proficiency in tax software (such as UltraTax, ProSeries, Drake, or similar).

Strong working knowledge of federal and Pennsylvania tax codes.

Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple returns in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent communication and client service skills.

CPA or EA designation a plus, but not required.
