What We're Looking For

Barge Design Solutions is currently seeking to fill the position of Civil Design Engineer (PE) in the Miramar, FL or Panama City, FL locations.

Responsibilities

Designs a variety of project types as the need may arise which may include site designs, utility designs, grading plans, and stormwater runoff and detention
Collaborates with project team members, client representatives, review agencies to resolve a variety of complex problems
Supervises the work of less experienced engineers and / or technical support personnel assigned to the project
Prepares and reviews technical reports, drawings, plans, specifications, and permits for projects
Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents
Prepares cost estimates for assigned projects
Oversees construction projects, conducts project site visits, reviews contractor's submittals, pay applications, etc.
Demonstrates strong attention to detail
Demonstrates strong organizational and time management skills; Works independently on multiple tasks without immediate supervision
Builds and maintains excellent interpersonal relationships
Performs other duties as requested

Education & Experience Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program

Minimum of 5 years of Civil Engineering / Site design experience

Professional Engineer (PE) license in Alabama, or an ability to obtain PE in Alabama within 6 months of start date, is required

Experience using MicroStation V8i and / or AutoCad; Civil3D experience is a plus

Working knowledge of the practical application of engineering principles, practices and techniques, and prepared to assume responsible charge for project designs

Skill using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel
