Job description

Hey, my name is Andi Poland. I am an independent recruiter, representing my client, a large and prominent attorney firm in Aurora, CO. I am seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Operations Manager to join their growing team. This is a key leadership role where you will oversee the financial operations and ensure the accuracy and integrity of our accounting functions.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
  • Routine tasks like journal entries, and reconciliation, AP / AR Management, Payroll Processing, general ledger maintenance , internal controls and audits and fixed asset management.
  • Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, budgets, and other reports in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor cash flow and manage banking relationships, including overseeing trust accounting.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and maintain strong internal controls.
  • Assist in strategic financial planning and provide insights to support the firm's growth.
  • Implement process improvements and oversee the maintenance of accounting systems and software.
  • What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • 5-7 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role, ideally in a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial regulations applicable to law firms.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Elite, Aderant) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
