Develop personalized care plans, continually assess patient condition, and adjust care strategies as needed. Pain Management : Assess pain levels accurately, implement appropriate management techniques, and educate patients and families about pain control options. Medication Administration : Administer medications following the five rights, ensuring safety and accuracy based on patient age, weight, and medical diagnosis. Maintain excellent medication documentation and monitor for adverse reactions. Clinical Procedures : Perform skilled nursing interventions including treatments, IV insertions, and interpreting diagnostic tests, following physician orders and current standards of care. Collaboration & Communication : Maintain ongoing communication with physicians, multidisciplinary teams, patients, and families. Obtain and review physician orders and collaborate effectively for optimal patient outcomes. Patient Safety & Compliance : Ensure all care activities are performed in a safe environment, adhering to federal, state, and organizational regulations. Maintain accurate, timely documentation reflecting patient status and interventions. Evaluations & Discharges : Conduct regular re-evaluations of patient needs, facilitate recertifications, and plan for safe discharges or referrals to appropriate care levels. Cultural Competency & Education : Respect and incorporate patients’ cultural practices into care planning. Provide health education tailored to individual needs, utilizing verbal and written communication methods. Resource Management : Obtain necessary supplies and equipment to support patient care. Quality & Safety Initiatives : Participate in agency quality improvement activities, staff meetings, and ongoing education to continuously enhance clinical skills and service quality. Additional Duties : Complete timely incident reports, follow up on lab results, assist other departments as needed, and uphold organizational policies and ethical standards. Qualifications : Valid RN licensure in good standing. Proven experience in emergency or acute care settings preferred. Ability to perform physical exams, implement treatments, start IVs, and interpret tests. Strong assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills. Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and organizational regulations governing patient care. Excellent communication, teamwork, and emotional intelligence skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle emergency situations effectively. Commitment to confidentiality, safety, and continuous professional development.
