Utilities Truck Driver
Under basic supervision, operates specialized trucks and equipment to move sludge from the Bob Derrington Water Reclamation Plant, Water Treatment Plant for the Utilities Department; operates vehicles, equipment, and tools in compliance with all safety regulations and standard procedures.
Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following :
Minimum qualifications :
Education, Training and Experience Guidelines : High School Diploma or GED preferred; AND one year of work experience operating trucks and machinery.
Knowledge of :
Safety policies and standards, and safe driving practices in public streets.
City geography, traffic patterns, streets, landmarks, and City facility locations.
Skill in :
Safe and efficient operation and maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
Following standard operating and safety procedures, and verbal and written instructions.
Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with co-workers.
License and certification requirements : A Texas State Commercial Driver's License is required.
Physical demands and working environment :
Work is performed indoors, outdoors, and at City facilities; may be exposed to safety hazards and dangerous tools and equipment; safety precautions must be followed, including use of safety equipment. City approved safety shoes must be worn.
