Position Summary :
The Field Technician is responsible for safe, efficient, and accurate transportation and installation of customer devices including panels, computers, desktops, and related accessories.
Essential Responsibilities :
The following essential functions represent the primary work performed; however, other responsibilities could be expected that are not detailed here but fall within the scope of this role.
- Install customer devices, including panels, computers, desktops, and related accessories. Prepare panels prior to installation, assemble mobile stands, mount frames, and connect surge protectors and cables.
- Troubleshoot customer devices, perform basic functionality tests, and document delivery processes and customer feedback, including reporting damaged or defective equipment.
- Inspect and verify all customer devices and equipment prior to delivery to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Safely and efficiently operate company vehicles (vans or trucks with trailers, box trucks), load and unload customer devices and related equipment, and maintain a clean worksite by removing all debris upon job completion.
- Adhere to traffic regulations and company safety procedures to maintain safe driving practices.
- Plan and follow efficient travel routes using GPS technology to optimize delivery schedules.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure safe operation, report mechanical or safety issues, and coordinate necessary repairs or maintenance. Maintain cleanliness of vehicle interiors and exteriors.
- Keep accurate records of mileage, deliveries, and driving hours as required.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure reliability, meet performance goals, and uphold high standards of quality and safety.
Minimum Skills, Abilities, and Requirements :
High school diploma or GED1+ years of progressive experience in a relevant field such as computer repair, electronic installation, construction, carpentry or other related roles or servicesDemonstrated problem-solving skillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsCreative and results-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate with others to identify and solve issues, and make proactive recommendationsSelf-directed work style, able to work autonomously, prioritize and deliver resultsAbility to use power tools and hand tools typically used in the installation process. As well as hand trucks and other loading and unloading toolsMust have an unexpired driver’s license and maintain appropriate licensing, credentials, and clean driving recordMust currently have DOT Health certification or must be able pass DOT Health certification after hire and annually thereafterMust current have a Class D Chauffeur's License or must be able to obtain one after hireRequires interstate traveling, including overnight lodging as necessaryAbility to travel nationally as necessaryTechnology and Systems :
