Job Summary
The Maintenance Installation Business Developer is responsible for driving new business growth by identifying, pursuing, and securing contracts for small scale landscape construction services and installation projects. This role requires a strong balance of sales expertise, industry knowledge, and relationship management to expand the client base, increase revenue, and ensure long-term customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities :
- Generate new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, referrals, and cold outreach
- Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of opportunities for installation projects outside the Maintenance book of business.
- Develop customized proposals and sales presentations that address client needs and highlight company value
- Negotiate and close contracts in alignment with company pricing standards and profitability goals
- Build strong, long-term relationships with property managers, developers, general contractors, and decision-makers
- Serve as the primary point of contact during the sales cycle and ensure a smooth transition to operations teams post-sale
- Conduct regular follow-ups to ensure client satisfaction, identify upsell opportunities, and drive retention
- Stay informed on local market conditions, competitor activity, and industry trends to identify new opportunities
- Represent the company at trade associations, networking events, and community engagements.
- Leverage market intelligence to position the company as a preferred partner for landscaping installation solutions
- Partner with estimating, operations, and project management teams to ensure accurate proposals and service delivery. Review large scale ($1M or greater) jobs with senior leadership (SVP)
- Work with branch and senior leadership to set annual sales goals, budgets, and strategies
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, pipeline development, and results using CRM systems
Education and Experience :
Bachelor's degree in business, Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, or related field preferred (or equivalent work experience)3-5 years of proven success in B2B sales preferably in landscaping, construction, property management, facility management or related service industriesKnowledge of landscape maintenance and installation practices, horticulture, and project management fundamentalsStrong sales, negotiation, and presentation skillsSelf-motivated, results-driven, and comfortable working independentlyProficiency with CRM tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and sales reportingPhysical Demands / Requirements :
Regular local travel to client sites, industry events, and networking opportunitiesOffice-based activities including proposal development, client follow-up, and team collaborationAbility to physically perform the basic life operational functions of walking, standing, and kneelingValid driver's license with a clean driving recordWork Environment :
Works in an indoor office and outdoors during construction site walks or project evaluationsRequires occasional evening and / or weekend networking events or meetings
