Job descriptionWork in the Cardiac ICU of a hospital setting Primary patient population includes open heart surgery, neuro surgery, vascular surgery, trauma, and medical overflow Unit has 8 beds with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1 : 1, 2 : 1, or 3 : 1 as needed Night shift 12-hour shifts from 7 : 00 PM to 7 : 30 AM Required to work every other weekend Floating as needed within skillset to support MICU, SICU, and other medical units with a maximum of 4 patients when floating Utilizes Cerner EMR system Responsibilities include advanced cardiovascular critical care for complex cases and post-surgical patients Navy blue scrubs required Both COVID and flu vaccinations are required; medical and religious exemptions are accepted Must complete designated compliance training within 90 days of hire and annually thereafter Holiday coverage may be required according to unit needs Travelers may only work two assignments before a mandatory 12-month break before returning Active SC or compact RN license Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification Previous travel experience required Experience performing special procedures such as chest tubes, swan, temporary pacers, cordess, cardiac continuous output, JP drains, central lines, art lines, trach, peg, and G / J tube High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts
