As a Lead Teacher, you will play a vital role in implementing our early childhood curriculum and assessment processes, while also cultivating a classroom environment that celebrates each child's unique family culture. You’ll be responsible for leading the daily educational program and ensuring a safe, nurturing space for children to thrive.
Salary Range : $53,635 to $58,836
Your Responsibilities :
- Design and implement engaging lesson plans that align with child outcomes and classroom routines.
- Enhance children's social, emotional, and cognitive development through age-appropriate activities and experiences.
- Supervise and maintain a safe, nurturing environment for all children.
- Involve children and families in developing classroom experiences and prepare instructional materials in a timely manner.
- Support children's self-help skills and overall development.
- Ensure classroom management, organization, cleanliness, and maintenance.
- Prioritize the safety and hygiene of all children.
- Communicate daily with families through various channels.
- Meet with families during designated conference times and as needed.
- Maintain developmental profiles for each child.
- Lead a collaborative team environment with Associate and Assistant Teachers.
- Work with Curriculum & Instruction Coaches to develop a professional development coaching plan.
- Comply with all state licensing requirements related to health, safety, and professional standards.
- Complete all required program documentation and reports accurately and on time.
- Act as a role model for child development.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding program, staff, and families.
What We’re Looking For :
Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Elementary Education, or Early Childhood Special Education (Bachelor’s Degree Preferred)List C certification in the PA ECE Career Pathway (preferred)3+ years of experience in a similar roleKnowledge of Early Childhood Education standards, including NAEYC ethics (preferred)Familiarity with inquiry-based and project approach learning, as well as PBIS strategies (preferred)Experience working with low-income families (preferred)Comfort with technology, including MS Office Suite, or a willingness to learnStrong engagement skills with parents / caregivers, including initiating important discussionsEnthusiastic, responsible, and committed to working in a mission-focused organizationWillingness to accept accountability and feedbackExceptional interpersonal skills to influence, lead, and educate teamsAbility to physically interact with children and lift / move items up to 40 poundsAdaptability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing prioritiesProactive problem-solving skillsCommitment to the mission and values of CHS and MHS, demonstrating integrity as a role model for studentsU.S. work authorization and successful completion of pre-employment background checks and clearancesWhy Join Us?
