Experience in cardiovascular and pediatric care. Experience with Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) is highly preferred. License : Active South Carolina or Multi-State / Compact RN license required. Certifications : Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required. Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred. Must-Have : Ability to work with complex pediatric cardiac cases. Experience in managing patients with congenital heart disease. Capability to operate and maintain advanced medical equipment such as ECMO and CRRT. Description : The Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit is a 29-bed unit specializing in the care of pediatric patients with congenital heart disease. This unit provides care for patients of all ages based on their specific needs. Common procedures include cardiac surgery, heart transplantation, and cardiac catheterization. The unit supports ventilatory and cardiac needs and offers additional complex therapies. Staff includes registered nurses, patient care technicians, and unit secretaries, with access to ancillary support services. Patient age groups range from neonates to adolescents. The average daily census is 26 patients with a mixture of cardiac surgical and medical diagnoses. Weekend shifts of 4 shifts in a 4-week schedule are required, alongside holiday rotations. Travelers will be required to float within the scope of the facility's needs. All time off requests must be provided at the time of submission and approved based on unit needs.
