Muslim Hands USA is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit working to alleviate poverty amongst some of the most vulnerable communities around the World. It primarily focuses on improving access to WASH, providing Health, Education, Food Security and Livelihoods and responding to Emergencies.
The Finance Manager will play a hands-on role in managing the day-to-day financial operations, ensuring the organization runs efficiently and effectively as well as overseeing the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and ensuring regulatory compliance. This role requires a combination of strategic thinking, detail-oriented execution, and a deep understanding of the financial challenges and opportunities within the non-profit sector.
Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day operations, including tracking financial data, invoicing, payroll, bank statements and maintaining organized and updated financial recordsDevelop and implement the organization's annual budgetary planningEnsure effective use of models and tools to enable planning and budget management at all levelsPrepare the budget and cashflow strategyManage budgets and funds to comply with the strategy and donor requirementsPrepare accurate monthly management accountsFinancial reports for the board and managementPrepare all Bank, Balance Sheet and System ReconciliationsFinancial data sanity checksReview, develop and maintain internal accounting controls and procedures and advise staff on internal controls and accounting policies and proceduresProcessing transactions during peak periodsPreparing written reports on financialsOrganize monthly budget review meeting and prepare official reports on a monthly, quarterly and annual basisStrong focus on controls and processes and a high attention to detailDemonstrate problem solving & analytical skillsThe ability to multi-task, as well as a willingness to not only support, but get involved as an individual contributorUp-to-date technical skills and confident preparing accountsThe ability to work closely with external advisersQualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. Masters degree or CPA preferred.Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in financial managementFamiliarity with non-profit financial regulations and grant managementProficiency in accounting software and tools, such as QuickBooksAbility to multitask and prioritize various operational activitiesExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skillsOutstanding written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work collaboratively across departments and with diverse stakeholdersFlexible work from home options available.
