Job Title : Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Psychiatry
Job Type : Locum Tenens
Location : Tazewell County & Buchanan County, VA
Service Setting : Correctional Facility
Coverage Type : Clinical (Telehealth available; onsite preferred)
Coverage Period : 1 year
Clinical Shift Schedule : 40 hours / week (Specific days TBD)

1-year assignment (exact start date TBD)

PATIENT INFORMATION

Patient Demographics : Adults

Phone Consults : Yes Provider should be available 24 / 7 for emergency consultations

Case Mix : General Psychiatry (correctional population)

FACILITY INFORMATION

Office Equipment Available : Telehealth equipment available at DOC headquarters and many facilities

Support Staff Available : Psychiatrists

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Rate : TBD

Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance : Covered

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Licenses : Active Virginia license

Board : Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)

DEA : Active DEA Certification

Certifications : NPI

Experience : No history of malpractice or disciplinary actions

Other Qualifications : Ability to handle correctional population and emergency phone consults

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Conduct psychiatric assessments and medication management

Collaborate with the Chief Psychiatrist

Provide onsite or telehealth services based on facility needs

Be available for 24 / 7 emergency consultations via phone

Document care accurately in EMR (when specified)
