Operations Coordinator
The Operations Coordinator facilitates efficient and effective operations within the Richmond Higher Education Institutions (RHEI) Student Affairs Department. This role is responsible for coordinating and supporting student / departmental initiatives while contributing to the efficient and effective operation of student affairs across the RHEIs. This role plays a key part in fostering a culture of well-being, engagement, and belonging for all students / staff while managing compliance with policies, supporting student engagement, departmental operations, special projects and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to support the needs of the department.
Essential Job Functions
- Plan, coordinate, and execute strategic events across the student lifecycle / department, including new student / staff onboarding, commencement ceremonies, and other student-focused initiatives.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with vendors and external stakeholders to support event needs.
- Facilitate student / staff daily operations for the Student Affairs department, ensuring efficient processes across admissions, marketing, records & registration, student success, and student & alumni affairs. Provide coordination and support for departmental special projects, student engagement initiatives, and development activities.
- Serve as the communication hub for all units within the department / with students, ensuring seamless information flow.
- Oversee the development and implementation of standard operating procedures that promote efficiency, continuous quality improvement, and regulatory compliance.
- Support budget management, including travel, professional development, and engagement spending requests.
- Manage timelines / collection and collation of data / documents for accreditation, regulatory standards and other required reports, including by not limited to the Virginia Board of Nursing, State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) and Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES).
- Facilitate key annual / semi-annual Student Affairs / student projects, may include projects such as :
- Annual revisions of College Catalog components.
- Coordination and planning of leadership meetings.
- Development of training schedules.
- Updates to Associate / Student Organization Advisor Handbook.
- Prepare and support written communications and visual presentations of project updates, findings, and recommendations for various audiences, including academic peers, leadership, and students.

Education
Bachelor of Science (required)Master's Degree in Student Affairs, Student Development or Counseling (preferred)Work Experience
