Fund Accounting Manager / Senior Manager Venture Capital
A leading venture capital firm is seeking a Senior Accounting Manager to join its finance team. This pivotal role partners closely with the CFO, Controller, and broader finance organization to ensure accurate, timely fund and management company reporting, while maintaining compliance under RIA regulations. You'll collaborate with investment partners, limited partners, auditors, and tax advisors in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
About the Role
You'll manage and mentor a team of fund accountants, oversee financial reporting for multiple funds and SPVs, and help design and implement policies that elevate the finance function. This is a hands-on role for a proactive leader who thrives on detail and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and review quarterly / annual financial statements, audits, tax returns, and regulatory filings.
Serve as primary liaison with fund administrators, auditors, and tax teams.
Oversee accounting for fund investments, expenses, and capital activity.
Manage investor communications and reporting portal.
Monitor banking activity, wires, capital calls / distributions, and credit line requests.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Mentor and develop finance staff.

Requirements
Qualifications
7+ years of venture capital or asset management accounting experience required.
Strong understanding of core accounting principles and compliance requirements.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
CPA preferred but not required.
