REQUIREMENTS AND PREFERENCES

This position is in person (no remote / hybrid) and is expected to work extended hours, including weekday evenings and weekends, during peak times of the project and operational needs.

The Broward County Board of County Commissioners is seeking qualified candidates for Information Technology Specialist.

Broward County Enterprise Technology Services Division's Financial Services Support team is dedicated to administering the County's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) suite of applications. Our team ensures seamless operation and integration across various critical systems, including PeopleSoft Financial and Supply Chain Management (FSCM), Human Capital Management (HCM) and Enterprise Learning Management (ELM) Systems.

We are seeking an experienced ERP Information Technology Specialist to ensure our ERP systems are optimally supported, developed, and maintained. The ideal candidate will be a top-level technical expert in operating systems, applications and software development / programming, with a focus on the FSCM, HCM, and ELM pillars of PeopleSoft and knowledge of other cloud-based ERP and SaaS systems. This position works on premises (no remote / hybrid work).

General Description

Manages large scale information technology projects.

Works under administrative supervision, developing and implementing programs within organizational policies and reports major activities to executive level administrators through conferences and reports.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in computer science or closely related field.

(One year of relevant experience may be substituted for each year of required education.)

Requires four (4) years of experience in technical expert in operating systems, applications, and software development / programming, with a focus on Financial and Supply Chain (FSCM), Human Capital Management (HCM), and Enterprise Learning Management (ELM) pillars of PeopleSoft. or closely related experience.

Special Certifications and Licenses

None.

Preferences

  • Two (2) or more years of experience with PeopleSoft Development tools and reporting tools or similar type of system.
  • Capable of effective teamwork, problem-solving, organization, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office
  • Five (5) or more years with PeopleSoft Development tools and reporting tools : PeopleTools 8.56, PeopleCode, PeopleSoft App Designer, PS / Query, nVision, and PeopleSoft Process Scheduler with Version 9.1 or higher.
  • Previous experience with Oracle / PeopleSoft ERP system implementations.
  • Strong teamwork, problem-solving, organization, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft SharePoint
  • Experience using Microsoft Vision
  • Experience using Microsoft Office
  • Experience using AWS, AppStream and / or Workspaces.
  • Working Knowledge of PHIRE or similar migration tools.
  • Experience reviewing App Server Logs and Process Scheduler.

SCOPE OF WORK

Provides high-level technical expertise and project management direction of multiple large scale information technology initiatives including technological research, analysis, design, development, and implementation of projects.

Reviews County-wide information technology strategic direction, recommends approaches for incorporation of the emerging technologies when appropriate, and implements the approved approach.

Reviews programming techniques and recommends information technology solutions, enhancement plans, and related cost-benefit comparisons.

Supervises professional and technical personnel in assigned work teams or sections.

Plans, organizes and implements approved emerging technologies.

Administers County-wide technological specialty functions.

Performs project management responsibilities for large scale complex information technology projects.

Reviews systems designs, development of applications, and documentation for accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to departmental standards.

Documentation of deployment, security, quality assurance, change controls, and compliance.

Performs related work as assigned.
