Associate, Trading
Morgan Stanley & Co. LLC seeks an Associate, Trading in New York, New York. Work on a global portfolio of corporate loans and credit derivatives. Evaluate capital structures and relative value. Analyze and execute trading strategies. Conduct financial valuation of the portfolio and new lending opportunities. Engage in secondary loan lifecycle with partners, including Capital Markets, Investment Banking, Credit, Risk Management, Operations, and Finance. Calculate, analyze and report portfolio PnL. Report and affirm a variety of portfolio risk metrics and scenario analyses. Telecommuting not permitted.
Salary : Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $175,000 and $175,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
Requirements : Requires a Masters's in Finance, Business Administration, or a closely related field of study and two (2) years of experience in the position offered or two (2) years as an Credit Risk, Investment Banking, or a closely related occupation. Requires two (2) years of experience in each skill : Bloomberg Terminal and Systems; Advanced Excel modeling skills including Macro functionalities; Fixed Income pricing and sensitivity / Greeks analysis; Analyzing large data sets and data visualizations using Excel, Python, and SQL; Product knowledge in Fixed Income products including CDS, credit indices, index options, and cash bond; Interpreting key Credit Agreement terms including Maintenance and Negative Covenants, Transferability, and Assignments and Participation; Working with loan and derivative trading documents including : LSTA, LMA, and ISDA; Financial statement analysis including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement; Financial modeling and credit analysis including Free Cash Flow analysis, Leverage and Repayment analysis, and Relative Value analysis.
