Nebraska Aggregates Business Manager
Responsible for the safety, commercial performance, and successful operation of Martin Marietta's Nebraska aggregates business. Those responsibilities include day-to-day operations of some of the largest underground limestone mines in Martin Marietta, which also include sand and gravel and portable open pit limestone operations. Additional responsibilities will include operational improvements, strategic planning, annual budgeting, acquiring additional reserves, interacting with and promoting Martin Marietta in the community, developing and evaluating growth opportunities, and working closely with the sales team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Primarily responsible for the safe production and sales of the tonnage in the Eastern Nebraska market
- Oversee all aspects of the day-to-day Nebraska aggregate production and rail yards
- 2 large underground limestone mines
- 4 sand and gravel locations
- 2 portable Limestone Quarries
- Pursuing growth initiatives and targets in line with Strategic Operations Analysis and Review (SOAR 2030)
- Increase reserve position across the footprint
- Develop relationships with customer base to increase our customer value proposition
- Interface with the sales team for critical product demand, needs, and strategic selling.
- Continue to implement operational excellence goals across areas of responsibility.
- Ensure compliance with Martin Marietta policies & procedures with respect to safety, environmental, state, and federal regulations
- Perform all duties in a manner that promotes a safe and ethical work environment in accordance with Martin Marietta's Guardian Angel safety culture
- Develop and maintain strong relationships and collaborate effectively with internal support groups including Procurement, Environmental, HR, Credit, Finance, etc.
