The Triage Clinician Lead (TCL) is part of the person-centered integrated team providing direct and indirect services to persons who present to the local Behavioral Health Crisis Center (BHCC). The TCL serves as the main assessor for individuals who present to the BHCC who are experiencing a behavioral health or substance use related crisis and will complete the Open Access assessment, when applicable. The TCL will provide oversight on shift to non-clinical staff and take the lead in directing the overall flow and referral processes at the BHCC.

This is a Part-time, weekend position scheduled 24 hours weekly. The schedule is Saturday and Sunday 7 : 00am - 7 : 00pm.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Triage individuals who present at the BHCC by swiftly, but kindly, assess the individual who will, most likely, be experiencing some sort of behavioral health or substance use related crisis
  • Philosophically understand the purpose of the BHCC is to avoid unnecessary hospitalization and / or law enforcement contact
  • When clinically appropriate, provide comprehensive assessments using the DMS-5 and complete agency intake documentation
  • Identify and assess appropriateness / readiness of referrals for all recommended services, both internally and externally
  • Function as the lead of the multi-disciplinary team and by provide supervision to non-clinical staff on shift at the BHCC
  • Work collaboratively with team members within the BHCC, Compass and external partners
  • Maintain client records, following agency and state regulations including knowledge of utilization management criteria
  • Provide culturally competent services to meet the unique cultural needs of each agency consumer and family member
  • Be knowledgeable of other human / social services for purposes of referral if the agency is unable to provide a particular service and maintain documentation of such referrals
  • Interface with other community partners (such as law enforcement, emergency medical personnel, etc.) to provide holistic services to persons served
  • Engage clients in individualized, person-centered discharge planning
  • Provide virtual support to other BHCC or Youth Behavioral Health Urgent Care, as needed
  • Complete training and perform Level One Medication Aid duties, as needed
  • Support BHCC team with collection of data
