Job Description
Job Title: Registered Nurse - GI/Endoscopy
Profession: RN (Registered Nurse)

Shift: 8H Day, Evening
Hours per Shift: 8 hours
Experience: Minimum 2 years of GI experience
License: Required
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, COVID Vaccine Required, Crisis Protocol Approved, NIHSS

Must-Have:
- Must have at least 2 years of GI experience

Description:
Unit: Endoscopy/GI lab
Average number of procedures per day: 3-5 cases, with emergency cases as needed
Certifications required include BLS, ACLS, and NIH stroke documentation
EMR utilized: Cerner-Surginet
Charge Nurse responsibilities included
Call required on weekends
Holiday work required as needed
Call will be part of the schedule
Scrub color: Special scrubs provided by the department
Hospitalist or Intensivist available in-house
IV Team not present
Respiratory Therapy available 24/7
Pharmacy available 24/7
Shifts are varied and consist of 8 hours
Floating required to PACU/ACU
Department-specific orientation provided for 2-3 days
Common cases/procedures include EGD, Colonoscopy, ERCP, MRCP, and biopsies
Cancellation policy allows for up to 4 shifts to be canceled per 13-week assignment, or 3 shifts for shorter assignments
Charting system is Cerner
