Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neonatal ICU (NICU) day shift position requiring BLS, NRP, STABLE certifications, and proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation.
Responsibilities
Work in a NICU setting providing specialized care for infants born at or after 32 weeks requiring higher-level supportPatient ratio ranges from 1 : 1 to 1 : 3Day shift schedule : Four 12-hour shifts per week, 7 : 00 AM to 7 : 30 PMEvery other weekend and holiday rotation requiredFloating within units of equal or lower level of acuity is requiredUse of Cerner EMRMain responsibilities include managing central lines, providing ventilator and CPAP support, and overseeing medication and blood culture protocolsScrubs are provided for this assignmentMust participate in a pre-start and orientation module program, with modules averaging 12 hours totalHoliday rotation is mandatory as assignedReturn staff must have a gap of at least one year since previous employment to be eligibleLocal candidates within 60 miles are accepted at a lower pay rateNo RTO permitted during the first two weeks, and a maximum of 7 days of requested time off is strongly preferred over a 13-week contractRequirements
Active MD or compact RN license required at time of considerationCertifications required : BLS, NRP, and STABLEMinimum of 2 years of recent NICU nursing experience requiredAt least one prior travel assignment with strong NICU experience is requiredMust successfully pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall score of 80% and 100% on lethal rhythmsProficiency required in dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV antibiotics, vasopressors for codes, insulin titration, cardiac monitoring, central lines, blood culture collection, ventilator management, CPAP, and peripheral IV startsPrevious experience as a charge nurse is preferredTwo supervisor references from the last two years requiredBenefits
