Job Description
Perform structural welding and fitting on carbon steel beams of various sizes and thicknesses according to project specifications
Use flux core, MIG, and stick welding techniques to ensure high-quality welds
Operate torch cutting equipment for precise metal cutting needs
Utilize grinding wheels to finish and prepare welds for inspection
Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and maintain safety standards
Assist with structural fitting tasks as needed
AWS certification in D1.1 welding code is required; D1.5 certification is preferred (and company offers training to obtain D1.5 once onboarded)
Minimum 3 years of proven welding experience in a similar setting
Proficiency in flux core, MIG, and stick welding techniques
Ability to operate torch cutting tools and grinding equipment safely and effectively
Experience operating overhead cranes is a plus but not mandatory
Ability to work both indoors in the shop environment and outdoors in the yard as required
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Ability to stand for prolonged periods
Frequent bending, crawling, kneeling, and occasional climbing
Push / pull efforts involving loaded carts and materials
