Job Title : Unit Manager (LPN or RN)

Location :  Alderwood Post Acute and Rehab

Position Overview :  Alderwood Post Acute and Rehab is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Unit Manager to join our dynamic team. As a Unit Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of care for our residents while fostering an environment of teamwork and respect. This leadership position requires a blend of clinical expertise, managerial skills, and a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those we serve.

Key Responsibilities :

Clinical Oversight :

Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, policies, and best practices in patient care.

Conduct regular assessments of resident needs and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.

Monitor and evaluate resident progress, adjusting care plans as necessary to meet evolving needs.

Team Leadership :

Supervise and mentor nursing staff, promoting professional development and adherence to best practices in patient care.

Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment, encouraging open communication and teamwork.

Conduct regular staff meetings to address concerns, share updates, and promote a culture of continuous improvement.

Quality Assurance :

Implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance resident outcomes and satisfaction.

Review incident reports and develop action plans to mitigate risks and improve safety.

Participate in facility audits and inspections, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.

Resident and Family Engagement :

Establish strong relationships with residents and their families, addressing concerns and ensuring they are well-informed about care processes.

Organize and facilitate family meetings and educational sessions to promote understanding of care plans and rehabilitation processes.

Administrative Duties :

Assist in budgeting, staffing, and resource allocation to ensure efficient unit operations.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility policies and regulatory requirements.

Collaborate with other departments to ensure a holistic approach to resident care.

Qualifications :

Education :  Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred; valid nursing license in the state of practice.

Experience :  Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience in a long-term care or rehabilitation setting, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or managerial role.

Skills :  Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and care management systems.

Certifications :  Certification in geriatric nursing or nursing administration is a plus.
