We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join a dynamic team in the insurance industry located in Jersey City, New Jersey. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in insurance or reinsurance accounting who are eager to contribute to financial operations and reporting. Responsibilities :

• Manage month-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Oversee general ledger activities, including posting entries and maintaining account accuracy.
• Prepare and review journal entries to ensure proper documentation and compliance with accounting standards.
• Conduct account reconciliations to verify balances and resolve discrepancies.
• Handle bank reconciliations, ensuring the accuracy of transactions and financial records.
• Collaborate with teams to produce Schedule F reports for reinsurance-related activities.
• Analyze and input insurance accounting data into the general ledger system.
• Support audits by providing necessary documentation and resolving inquiries.
• Ensure reinsurance related SOX compliance with industry regulations and internal accounting policies.
• Prepare STAT Schedule F Filings
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in reinsurance accounting, or 6 years in insurance accounting.
• Strong knowledge of insurance accounting practices and general ledger systems.
• Proficiency in preparing Schedule F reports and related reinsurance activities.
• Experience with month-end close processes, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• Advanced analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.
