onsemi is seeking a principal reliability engineer to work in a fast-paced environment and be a key team member to accelerate the adoption of cutting-edge Gallium Nitride (GaN) products and technologies. The candidate will collaborate with multiple business units, multidisciplinary team focusing on GaN technology reliability assessment and product qualification. This role demands a proactive approach, electrical engineering / material /device physics background with an understanding of semiconductor reliability, and effective communication skills. This is an on-site role based in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Bachelor's in electrical engineering, Material Science, Physics, or related discipline. . or PhD is preferred
5 plus years in a comparable role.
Understanding reliability testing methodologies (DHTOL, HTRB, HTGB, TC, THB, and failure analysis techniques.
Knowledge of industry standards (JEDEC, AEC, AQG). Active participation in industry consortia and standards development is a plus.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communications skills, including the ability to challenge ideas in a healthy manner.
Fundamental understanding of statistical distribution (Weibull, lognormal , experience with Minitab, JMP or other statistical tools for data analysis, and understanding of the science related to semiconductor fab processes, inspection, and failure analysis.
Willingness to travel (US domestic and international) <10%.
