We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to join our team in Uniondale, New York. In this Contract-to-permanent role, you will play a key part in the administration of their payroll. This position offers an opportunity to work within the education industry and contribute to maintaining smooth payroll operations efficiently,

Responsibilities :

  • Process payroll for biweekly, semi-monthly, union and non-union payrolls using ADP WFN.
  • Manage employee records by setting up new hires, processing changes, terminations, and handling direct deposits and deductions.
  • Audit timekeeping records to ensure compliance with established standards and procedures.
  • Maintain and reconcile employee ADP time sheets and payroll records.
  • Help with payroll adjustments, manual checks, and stop payment requests.
  • Prepare and generate reports using Excel and payroll reporting systems to meet departmental needs.
  • Coordinate wage garnishments, including processing online child support payments.

FPC accreditation or higher is a plus but not necessary

  • Coordinate payroll processing using ADP Workforce Now.
  • Set up new hires, process changes, terminations, direct deposit, taxable fringe benefits, deductions for administrators, clerical, facilities, public safety, and hourly employees.
  • Checking and auditing timekeeping records for compliance with established standards..
  • Calculate amounts of Short-Term Disability, Paid Family Leave, Overtime and Special Payments.
  • Process payroll adjustments.
  • Run various ADP reports on the computer.
  • Configure and troubleshoot importing issues,
  • Process Manual checks, stop payments, child support, and other wage garnishements.
  • Review and reconcile ADP prior and following processing for accuracy.
  • Respond and be proactive with employee inquiries as it relates to calculating short term disability and family leave.
  • Work with wire transfers for credit unions.
  • Experience with international payroll a plus but NOT required including non-resident alien status.
  • Assist and help prepare Form 941 / reconciliation (experience a plus)
  • Experience with Forms W2 and 1099
  • Experience with Form 1042-S is a plus
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • FPC or CPP accredidation is a plus
