The Varsity Tutors Live Learning Platform has thousands of students looking for online High School Level American Literature tutors nationwide. As a tutor on the Varsity Tutors Platform, you’ll have the flexibility to set your own schedule, earn competitive rates, and make a real impact on students’ learning journeys—all from the comfort of your home.

Responsibilities

Tutor remotely using our Live Learning Platform—no commuting required.
Get matched with students best suited to your teaching style and expertise.
Provide personalized instruction to individual students and adapt lessons to different learning styles.
Leverage the AI-powered Tutor Copilot to enhance sessions with real-time instructional support, lesson generation, and engagement features.
Invoice for tutoring sessions; Varsity Tutors handles payments and logistics.

What We Look For In a Tutor

Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.

Expertise in High School Level American Literature and the ability to explain concepts clearly.

Ability to personalize lessons and adapt to different learning styles.

Priority given to those with tutoring experience, teaching experience, and graduate-level education.

Compensation & How It Works

Base contract rates start at $18 / hour and increase for specialized subjects. You can earn up to $40 / hour with the same student over time.

Get paid up to twice per week for tutoring sessions you conduct and invoice.

Set your own hours and tutor as much as you’d like.

Remote tutoring with no commuting required.

Please note : Varsity Tutors does not contract with tutors in the following locations : Alaska, California, Colorado, Delaware, Hawaii, Maine, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Vermont, West Virginia, or Puerto Rico.
