TAG Medstaffing has a historic and community-focused child welfare agency client headquartered in Queens who is seeking a compassionate Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist to join their team. Their mission is to provide trauma-informed, high-quality medical and behavioral health care for children and youth in foster care — and they are looking for a psychiatrist who shares that passion.
About the Role
This part-time position (10 hours per week) offers a flexible, hybrid schedule :
- 2 weeks / month in-person at our Queens campus
- 2 weeks / month telehealth sessions (schedule at your convenience)
- 2 additional on-call hours per week for emergencies
You’ll collaborate closely with psychologists, social workers, and their Medical Director, providing comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and ongoing medication management for youth in foster care.
Responsibilities
Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations (60–90 minutes)Provide medication management (30-minute sessions)Meet with children and caregivers together to foster understanding and trustEducate youth and families about diagnoses, treatment, and medicationsDocument progress notes within 24 hours in AdvancedMD EMRCollaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic careParticipate in ongoing training with our Director of Health ServicesQualifications
Active NYS Medical License and Medicaid / NPI numbersBoard Certified in Child & Adolescent PsychiatryMinimum 2 years of experience , foster care or underserved populations a plusStrong communication and collaboration skillsCultural competence and passion for working with youthCompensation
