Job description

Butler Hospital is expanding our Partial Hospital programs to meet the significant demands of the community! To successfully do so, we are in need of hiring talented and energized program therapists to treat patients in our Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Partial (adults, all gender) and our Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Program (female or female identifying adults).

Program Therapist job duties in this role include conducting initial psychiatric evaluations, diagnosing, treatment planning, conducting individual therapy and group therapy sessions, collaborating with providers / schools, and facilitating family meetings for patients enrolled in our CBT and DBT program. Treatment spans across all partial programs, flexing as needed to the demands of the community. The hours for this position are Monday through Friday from 7 : 30 am to 4 pm.

Requirements :

  • Education : Master's Degree in social work or counseling required
  • Licensure : Independent License preferred (LMHC, LICSW, LMFT)- if not independently licensed, must be post grad from a program that is eligible for independent license and actively earning hours for independent licensure.
  • Training and Experience : Experience in a psychiatric setting is required. Training and experience in relation to the population served is necessary- particularly DBT for this position.
  • Special Qualifications : Interest and commitment in the programs at Butler Hospital and the dept of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at Brown
  • Mental Demands - Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment, able to collaborate and work alongside a multi-disciplinary staff and treat acute patient population
