Transportation Maintenance Crew Leader (Bridge Maintenance)

The State of Connecticut Department of Transportation invites its experienced agency employees to apply for the position of Transportation Maintenance Crew Leader (Bridge Maintenance) located in the Darien Bridge Maintenance facility. This position is responsible for overseeing and assigning daily duties to a crew of various Transportation Maintainers in the repair and maintenance operations of various statewide infrastructure, and have the ability to make on-site adjustments to projects as deemed necessary.

The role includes :

• Planning crew workflow and determining priorities
• Scheduling, assigning, overseeing, and reviewing work
• Establishing and maintaining crew procedures
• Providing staff training and assistance
• Conducting or assisting in conducting performance evaluations
• Acting as liaison with operating units, agencies, and outside officials regarding unit policies and procedures
• Requisitioning materials and equipment appropriate to the various jobs
• Participating in performing the duties of the crew
• Making recommendations on policies or standards
• Preparing reports and correspondence
• Doing preliminary site inspection of assigned jobs
• Responding to fire and / or crash emergency situations at State-owned airports
