Job descriptionGreets customers when within ten feet and four seconds of contact. Performs basic cleaning of department, hourly checks of grocery floor to complete sweep & mop log Stocks and rotates produce items, while trimming items to maintain freshness and quality Removes damaged items from produce floor and records weight of damages for tracking Fulfills fruit basket orders, blows up balloons, adds ice to and cuts fruit to display in section Maintains sanitary standards in all areas, especially cutting melons Refills produce bags, bale empty boxes Performs some cashiering and bagging help when needed, register accuracy, knows / carries out proper register procedures Performs other related duties as needed as assigned by manager Stand for long periods of time, very frequent walking back and forth from produce warehouse to produce floor Carry up to 60 pounds, push and pull up to 1000 pounds, frequent motions with arms / hands to display produce items Use of proper safety procedures Able to use knifes, wrapping machine, corn cutter, and pallet jacks Able to multitask, listen to directions and follow through independently Able to deal with difficult customers, have good communication and observation skills Able to work with a team and independently when needed Previous experience working with the public Not afraid to use knives Working knowledge of produce codes required, while able to differentiate between different produce products required Basic knowledge of produce product preparation and uses Air condition while in store, subject to outside conditions of heat, rain, and wind, chill temperatures when products need to be retrieved from chill Very fast paced
