Position Overview
We are seeking to hire an Investment Director who will work for the Co-Chief Investment Officers ("CIOs") while partnering with other team members to construct and manage client portfolios and communicate timely information to the team's clients. Opportunity to work with (and learn from) a team in the Private Client Practice managing client portfolios that range in size from $200 million to >
$7 billion.
The team functions as the dedicated investment office for 12 family offices in the U.S., Canada, Central America, and South America. They currently manage over $16 billion in client assets and have consistently delivered top decile / quartile returns. Given their focus on timely client engagement and efficient portfolio execution, they have grown organically through client referrals, as well as strong networks in the family office market. The team has a flat structure with clear roles and ownership of all investment and operating processes. Team members meet daily to discuss markets, investment themes, managers, and client portfolios, while staying focused on task / project delivery.

Responsibilities
Support Co-CIOs and Investment Directors in the management of client portfolios and relationships
Global Markets and Investment Managers : Stay abreast of market developments, actions, and changes to develop a view on how client portfolios should be positioned and the impact of market actions (both positive and negative) to client's portfolios. Build manager knowledge and relationships to ultimately leverage these networks for access to capacity constrained managers, co-investment opportunities. Conduct manager due diligence as needed.
Provide input to Client / Prospect Portfolio construction : Understand implications of client's spending, family enterprise and specific circumstances to model recommendations for asset allocation and portfolio construction. Provide input to investment decisions (thematic areas of focus, portfolio construction guidelines, current exposures, liquidity levels etc.)
Monitor Client Portfolios : For liquidity, sector and geographical exposures, currency, and asset class weights develop insights from this process to drive recommendations and decisions.
Projects : Lead investment related projects that have direct impact on strategic asset allocation decisions. Additionally, storyboard and lead projects related to ad-hoc client questions and requests.
Effectively communicate to clients through effective written and verbal communications : Effectively communicate recommendations to clients (and prospects) in a concise, transparent and intuitive manner that is appropriate for audiences of varying investment expertise.
Team Management : Manage a team of investment analysts including overseeing and directing workflow across the analyst team to ensure high quality deliverables.
Qualifications
Five to ten years of investment experience with strong preference for having worked on a trading desk, at an investment manager or a capital allocator (competitor to CA)
Ability to thrive and problem solve in a fast-paced and demanding work environment
Proven ability to deliver on time with high accuracy and quality
Hard working, ability to manage multiple deadlines
Collaborative approach while commercially competitive
Active participant in learning culture (e.g. giving and receiving)
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills. Proven ability to prioritize competing deliverables based on need and timing
Strong attention to detail ability to review, edit and ensure high quality deliverables
Able to work effectively with autonomy and collaborate effectively with integrated team
Direct client relationship experience preferred
CFA candidate preferred, but not required
