Position Summary

The purpose of this position is to fulfill the university's mission to help students develop in mind, body and spirit providing care, prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries and sports related illnesses to student athletes in all Concordia University sports. This position is responsible for providing care at home and away contests.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide care, prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries and sports related illnesses
• Serve as a licensed athletic trainer for various sports
• Administer emergency care to athletes as needed and within his / her training and capabilities
• Conduct him / herself in a professional manner at all intercollegiate practices, contests, and meetings
• Consult with physicians and / or other health care professionals
• Consult with coaches in a professional manner
• Assist in the supervision of athletic training students and serve as an approved clinical instructor (ACI)
• Develop and implement intercollegiate athletic training programs
• Knowledge of the Commission on the Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) accreditation preferred
• Assist in the management, organization, coordination and supervision of the athletic training room and the athletic training program
• Perform other related duties as assigned
