Bemas Construction is an all-purpose earthwork contractor. We move dirt to build developments and resources that our communities need, creating suitable foundations for people to build on. Our projects include grading and stormwater control services for commercial, residential, mining, and environmental projects.
HOW YOU WILL GET TO HELP US DO THAT
As a Heavy Equipment Technician, you will help keep our jobs running on schedule by maximizing equipment uptime. This role is open to Full-Time employees with vehicles, tools, and benefits provided or Independent Contractors with their own vehicles and tools who prefer to work 1099. This position can be shop-based (at a construction yard facility) or field-based (traveling to job sites).
WHAT YOU WILL GET TO DO
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems for heavy equipment, including older model 631E or 627G scrapers, D6T / D8T / D9T CAT dozers, 14H / 140H motor graders, excavators, 631 water wagons, and John Deere 9320 Tractors
- Order parts and perform component changes and rebuilds
- Partner with Operators and Foremen to understand and troubleshoot equipment needs
- Follow repair schedule while also attending to unplanned issues, reprioritizing as needed to minimize job downtime
- Collaborate with production crews to manage and schedule repairs,
- Follow safety protocols

5 yrs heavy equipment repair experience OR trade-school certification in heavy equipment repairAt least 18 years oldWilling to participate in a pre-employment physical and drug screenReliable means of transportationEVEN BETTER (BUT NOT REQUIRED) IF
You have a valid CDL licenseYou have Tanker & HAZMAT endorsementYou have MSHA and / or OSHA 10 certificationYOU'LL HAVE THE BEST OPPORTUNITY TO SUCCEED IF
