Machine Shop Supervisor

This exciting role will be responsible for overseeing production activities to ensure on-time delivery, quality, and efficiency in the machining department. This role involves leading and developing a team, managing manpower and training, troubleshooting technical issues, and coordinating with cross-functional departments such as Production, Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance. They are headquartered in the Monroe, WA area. The company is a leading designer and manufacturer of various aerospace components. Responsibilities :

  • Set and achieve production goals for on-time delivery, utilization, efficiency, and scrap.
  • Ensure processes and procedures are robust and consistently followed.
  • Maintain safety, organization, cleanliness, and proper supply usage in the shop area.
  • Manage manpower, including staffing requisitions, interviews, hiring feedback, performance reviews, corrective actions, and succession planning.
  • Communicate goals and updates through toolbox talks and weekly meetings.
  • Develop cross-training plans to support stability and coverage.
  • Build and maintain a motivated, collaborative team environment.
  • Identify and implement improvement opportunities in systems, procedures, and processes.
  • Actively support maintenance activities, including timely and high-quality preventive maintenance.
  • Approve MRR dispositions and oversee downtime logs, payroll time approvals, and SyteLine job transactions.
  • Assist with communication boards for manpower, efficiency, and scrap metrics.

Qualifications :

  • Level 5 Machinist or higher is required, with at least 2 years of experience at this level
  • Prior leadership experience or leadership training is required.
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T, corrective action processes, engineering drawings, and problem-solving techniques.
  • Solid technical skills with the ability to troubleshoot machine and part issues.
  • Effective communication across crews, peers, and management.
  • Good judgment with willingness to seek assistance when needed.
  • Salary Range :

  • $80,000-97,500 depending on experience
  • Weekly Schedule :

  • Day Shift : Monday-Friday 7 : 00 AM-3 : 30 PM
