TITLE : Residential Automated Side Load Driver
DEPARTMENT : Operations
REPORTS TO : Residential Supervisor
FLSA STATUS : Non-Exempt
Position Summary :
The Residential Automated Side Load Driver, under direction of the Residential Supervisor, empties company issued residential waste receptacles for Tiger Sanitation customers, utilizing an automated side load vehicle.
Education and Experience
Possess a valid Class A or B Driver’s License
- 1 year minimum of professional commercial driving experience within the sanitation industry required
- 1-year Automated Side Load driving experience required
- Must have participated in Tiger Sanitation's Residential Driver Apprentice Program or have a minimum of one (1) year's experience.
Essential Functions :
Performs and documents pre-trip and post-trip inspections of company issued vehiclesEmpties residential waste receptacles indicated on daily route sheet using an automated side load vehicle and other approved waste that may not be able to be serviced with the vehicles automated armActively communicates all changes to daily route sheet to the dispatch teamNotifies supervisor immediately of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage that may occur while completing activities on routeReviews and completes daily work ordersEnsures accurate completion of route sheet and VCR by the end of each dayOccasionally operate a conventional rear load vehicle, when neededOther duties as assignedRequirements :
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Ability to safely operate a DOT vehicle from both right and left side driving positionsAbility to operate joystick controls with precisionAbility to proficiently navigate, in forward and reverse motion, driveways, alleyways high traffic roadways with potential limited overhead and compact areasAbility to operate vehicles in accordance with OSHA (Occupational and Safety Health Act) and DOT (Department of Transportation) requirements as well as all local, state, and federal lawAbility to push, pull, and lift 50 pounds, with or without assistanceAbility to convey Tiger Sanitation as the obvious choice for our customers, employees, and community.Actively demonstrates Tiger Sanitation’s core values in daily tasks and communications : Professionalism, Respect, Accountability and CommunicationAbility to demonstrate decision making skills that align with Tiger Sanitation’s 4 Step Decision Making ProcessAbility to collaborate with coworkers.Ability to prioritize activities to achieve, individual and team, expectations, and goalsWorking Conditions
This position will be based in an outdoor environment, exposed to the elements, with extended periods of standing, sitting, squatting, climbing, reaching, and lifting.
