Quality Inspector - Mechanical - Level 2

Were hiring for a Mechanical Quality Inspector with experience with gears in Milford, CT. This opportunity is for part-time, 1 year contract position supporting the first shift . Key Responsibilities :

• Perform detailed inspection at supplier sitesvisual, dimensional, and physicalon components, assemblies, and raw materials throughout various production phases (including in-process, final, and first article) to verify compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.
• Operate and utilize precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, dial indicators, gauge blocks, height gauges, and profilometers to validate part conformity.
• Conduct surface plate inspections and statistical lot sampling based on quality requirements.
• Apply sharp visual inspection skills to identify workmanship issues and product defects, including damage such as burrs, scratches, loose fasteners, dings, and inadequate edge distances.
• Identify and categorize nonconformities and confirm that corrective actions or rework have been properly executed.
• Receiving shipping documentation for accuracy, confirming part numbers, serial numbers, change notices, and destination data are correct.
• Assure appropriate packaging, preservation, and delivery handling upon receiving.
