Advanced Practice Provider – Cardiology

Physicians East, P. A. invites you to consider an exceptional opportunity at our Arlington Main Campus in our Cardiology department. We are seeking a well-trained, experienced, collegial, and motivated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant who is comfortable with the evaluation and management of Cardiology patients. We're looking for an individual who can provide first-class care for our patients while ensuring exceptional experience.

Our private practice, located in Greenville, NC, is multi-specialty with numerous offices located in and around the area. In addition to cardiology, we offer primary care, pulmonary, rheumatology, urgent care, dermatology, oncology / hematology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, obstetrics and gynecology, and surgery. Our 100+ providers and 600 employees provide services for thousands of patients in a 29-county region of eastern North Carolina.

In this position you will :

  • Perform patient evaluations, histories, and physical exams.
  • Manage follow-up care for patients with cardiovascular conditions.
  • Order, interpret, and review diagnostic tests (e.g., EKG, stress tests, echocardiograms, lab work)
  • Provide patient education on risk factors, medications, and lifestyle modification.
  • Collaborate with the care team to ensure continuity of care and quality outcomes.
  • Accurately document all patient encounters in the EMR.

Requirements include :

  • Licensed as a PA-C or NP in the state of North Carolina and active DEA license.
  • Cardiology experience strongly preferred.
  • Must be able to work independently (under indirect supervision).
  • Have at least 1-3 years of post-graduate experience as a provider in cardiology.
  • Must have experience and knowledge of an EMR system, voice dictation (Dragon) and strong documentation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure with time constraints.
  • Use strong clinical judgment to determine when a supervising physician should be consulted.
  • Value working in a team-oriented, patient-centric culture.
  • The ideal candidate will also :

  • Be confident in clinical decision-making and autonomous in providing care to patients in a fast-paced clinical practice setting.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and be proactive in discussing case management.
  • Possess excellent time management and have ability to work well with patients and their families, collaborating / supervising physicians, facility staff and leadership.
  • Display a professional demeanor and recognition of privacy considerations for patients and families, maintaining strict confidentiality in all times.
  • Demonstrate a strong sense of team commitment, which includes meeting deadlines, punctuality and excellent follow-through and feedback.
