About the Role

LTY Engineers is seeking a skilled Plumbing Engineer to join our Houston team. This is an opportunity to work on meaningful, community-shaping projects including K–12 schools, higher education facilities, and commercial developments. As a key technical leader, you will own project delivery from design through construction administration while collaborating across disciplines and mentoring junior engineers.

This role is ideal for a motivated professional who thrives in a collaborative, client-focused environment and wants to advance toward leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead plumbing design on medium to large-scale projects, ensuring code compliance and quality delivery.

• Prepare detailed engineering calculations, drawings, and project specifications using AutoCAD and Revit.

• Oversee submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings while maintaining design integrity throughout construction.

• Conduct site visits and generate field reports verifying design intent.

• Act as the technical lead in client meetings and design coordination sessions.

• Mentor and support the professional growth of junior engineers.

• Contribute to business development through client relationships and technical expertise.

Technical Expertise

• Domestic cold and hot water systems

• Sanitary waste and vent systems

• Roof drainage and storm sewer systems

• Fire protection and natural gas systems

• Compressed air, fuel gas, and specialty gas systems

• Strong knowledge of building codes and standards

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field

• EIT certification in Texas; PE license preferred

• 5+ years of plumbing design experience in an MEP consulting environment

• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite

• Strong communication and leadership skills with proven project management ability
