TechTrend, Inc., a small business serving both Government and commercial technology sectors, is seeking a seasoned and hands?on Cloud Architect to lead the design and implementation of secure, scalable cloud solutions. The role is ideal for an architect who thrives in hybrid, multi?cloud environments, with deep experience in one or more cloud service providers such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Beyond technical skill, this role requires a leader who can mentor teams, bring calm to complexity, and raise the bar on engineering culture. The successful candidate will play a lead role in modernizing legacy systems, implementing AI and automation, driving DevSecOps maturity, and aligning solutions with federal security frameworks.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement enterprise?class, secure, scalable cloud solutions to meet internal and external customers requirements
- Lead and support cloud migration efforts from legacy or on?prem systems to Azure or GCP, or from one CSP to another
- Configure and manage core cloud services, including compute, storage, networking, virtualization, microservices, containerization, artificial intelligence, multi?tenancy, orchestration, identity, and monitoring
- Automate infrastructure deployment using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and ARM templates
- Develop scripts and tools (primarily PowerShell, Bash; Python is a bonus) to automate operational tasks
- Apply DevSecOps practices and collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure secure?by?design cloud environments
- Design and implement automations using cloud native tools to enhance network and security operations efficiency
- Maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational runbooks; provide training and mentoring to internal stakeholders
- Partner with cross?functional teams, including less technical stakeholders, to translate requirements into scalable cloud solutions
- Navigate and remediate technical debt
- Support the use of standard collaboration and development tools, including GitHub, Artifactory, SonarQube, Jira, and Confluence
Qualifications
Required :
6+ years of hands?on experience in cloud engineering, architecture, or infrastructure rolesExtensive experience designing and delivering solutions leveraging Microsoft Azure (preferred), GCP, and AWS cloud servicesAdvanced Cloud certifications, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect preferredExperience with cloud migration, on?prem to cloud and cloud to cloudFamiliarity with automation tools and technologies, such as Infrastructure?as?Code (IaC) frameworks (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation)Knowledge of federal compliance frameworks, including NIST 800?53, FedRAMP, and FISMASkilled in troubleshooting and designing hybrid and cloud network architecturesExcellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across technical and non?technical teamsDemonstrated ability to mentor engineers, led by examplesCompensation
