Job Summary :

The Staff Field Application Engineer (FAE) will be part of a growing, dynamic, highly-focused team responsible for developing new or existing opportunities in the global IT market. The FAE will work with customers from ground to executive level, manage projects with internal and external teams, and help grow the business whenever possible. Customer and solution focus, business continuity and support are key aspects of this role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

Recruit, lead and mentor a team of FAEs in support of revenue growth at all assigned accounts

Serve as solution architect and provide presentation skills to help expand Fortune 1000 account penetration and loyalty

Work closely with sales and extended teams to map end‑user business, partner requirements and provide optimized technical solutions

Provide technical leadership in pre‑sales and oversee implementation of solutions

Effectively engage with C‑level technical customers, gain and maintain trust

Act as highly technical problem solver who understands system architecture, hardware and software interaction

Possess basic hardware debugging skills

Manage and lead product hardware and software engineers during product development

Manage and lead teams during field investigation and problem resolution

Have a good understanding of firmware, drivers, OS, applications and their interaction that can cause system issues

Develop and review system solutions, technical bid responses and presentations

Work cross‑departmentally to ensure customer satisfaction and timely resolution of issues

Build and demonstrate proof‑of‑concepts that meet or exceed customer business needs

Present the corporate brand, product messaging and solutions to customers

Visit on‑site facilities and operations to enable solution integration and issue resolution

Travel as required (up to 25%)

Qualifications :

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering discipline; computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineering preferred

Excellent communication skills and business sense required

Minimum 12 years of related experience with compute / storage server or data‑center or IT infrastructure

Strong background and experience with x86‑based server architecture

Solid hardware system design and diagnostics skills

Familiarity with firmware, Linux, Windows and virtualization platforms is a plus

Strong technical communication and leadership skills to lead investigations with engineers of multiple disciplines

Ability to work effectively in a high‑pressure environment

Salary Range : $155,000 – $185,000
