Job Title : Low Voltage Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Audio / Visual Technician to join our AV Commercial Department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in installation and troubleshooting, with responsibilities that include programming and commissioning AV, IT, and control systems. This role also involves training, documentation, and service of AV / IT systems installations, as well as supporting the Project Manager to ensure projects meet customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Program Crestron and other automation control systems.
  • Assemble, test, and commission equipment racks and systems built in-house.
  • Perform onsite configuration, commissioning, and training of AV / IT systems.
  • Configure software for AV DSP systems and support digital signage systems.
  • Provide service and support on commercial AV systems.
  • Complete other tasks as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with installation, cabling, and audiovisual systems.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and servicing AV systems.
  • Ability to physically install Category 5, Category 6, and Fiber Optic Structured Cable Distribution Systems.
  • Knowledge in terminating, assembling, and testing copper and fiber cables.
  • Familiarity with ANSI, EIA / TIA, and local Low Voltage Code.
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in installing outlets, pulling cable, and pre-termination processes.
  • Ability to diagnose and correct copper and optical fiber issues.
  • Experience with closet and equipment layouts and grounding infrastructure.
  • Capability to perform administrative tasks, including documenting test results.
  • Experience in retrofit and new construction environments.

    Work Environment

    Work on commercial / construction job-sites with a team of 1-4 technicians. Dress code includes jeans / work pants and clean work-appropriate shirts. Personal Protective Equipment such as hard hats, safety glasses, and high visibility vests are provided. Work hours are generally normal, with potential for overtime, and occasional Saturdays with proper notice. Projects are primarily located in the Madison and Milwaukee area, with some regional travel. All travel costs, including transportation, lodging, and meals, are covered. Ride-share options are available, but reliable personal transportation is required.

    This is a Permanent position based out of MADISON, WI.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00 / hr.
