Position Description :
A government client located in Tallahassee, FL is seeking an experienced IT Project Budget Specialist . The candidate must be a highly motivated, independent self-starter with excellent communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills, as well as strong attention to detail.
This role provides financial management support for the Office of Information Technology , leading the analysis, development, and implementation of financial services for IT planning and control. The specialist will manage IT budgets, monitor expenditures, and develop proposals with clear documentation and justification.
Education :
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Finance, Business Administration, or related field .
Required Experience :
5-7 years of financial management experience, including managing teams for economic analysis, planning, cost analysis, and financial statements.Experience with client statewide financial management systems .Experience with client legislative budget processes .Proven track record of leading cross-functional implementation projects, managing stakeholder relationships, and driving organizational change.Primary Job Duties / Tasks :
Analyze IT financial conditions and develop recommendations for senior IT leadership.Prepare and deliver financial statements, monthly budgets, and summary reports.Review and approve deliverables tied to contract and purchase order payments.Develop financial metrics and conduct compliance reviews.Drive adherence to accounting practices, reconciliations, and reporting standards.Ensure compliance with client statutes, administrative codes, and internal policies .Develop user guides, process documentation, and self-service resources.Implement automated feedback collection and continuous improvement workflows.Perform daily reporting and other assigned tasks.Key Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs) :
Expertise in financial management principles, IT budgeting, and cost planning methodologies .Knowledge of government procurement regulations and compliance standards.Familiarity with IT infrastructure costs, licensing models, and lifecycle management .Strong skills in financial analysis, ROI calculations, variance analysis, forecasting, and risk assessment .Ability to translate technical IT requirements into financial justifications for executive leadership.Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, proposal development, and dashboard reporting .Strong interpersonal, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.Strategic thinker with the ability to balance long-term IT financial planning while managing day-to-day operations.General Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
