Job Description
This position will be responsible for the analysis, design, testing, development and maintenance of best in class software experiences. The candidate is a self-motivated individual who can collaborate with a team and across the organization. The candidate takes responsibility of the software artifacts produced adhering to U.S. Bank standards in order to ensure minimal impact to the customer experience. The candidate will be adept with the agile software development lifecycle and DevOps principles.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for designing, developing, testing, operating and maintaining products
- Takes full stack ownership by consistently writing production-ready and testable code
- Consistently creates optimal design adhering to architectural best practices; considers scalability, reliability and performance of systems / contexts affected when defining technical designs
- Performs analysis on failures, propose design changes, and encourage operational improvements
- Makes sound design / coding decisions keeping customer experience in the forefront
- Takes feedback from code review and apply changes to meet standards
- Conducts code reviews to provide guidance on engineering best practices and compliance with development procedures
- Accountable for ensuring all aspects of product development follow compliance and security best practices
- Exhibits relentless focus in software reliability engineering standards embedded into development standards
- Embraces emerging technology opportunities and contributes to the best practices in support of the bank’s technology transformation
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experienceTwo to three years of relevant experiencePreferred Skills / Experience
Experience building complex applications with React (18.x)Strong proficiency in modern JavaScript (ES6+) patterns and best practices.Proficiency with ESLint, Prettier, and code quality toolsExperience with state management libraries (specifically Zustand and React Context)Experience with micro frontends architecture, module federation, design tokens and themeable UI componentsCSS / SCSS : Advanced styling skills using modular CSS / SCSS, and CSS modulesFamiliarity with MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication) integrationWeb APIs : Experience with RESTful APIs integration, Axios, and handling asynchronous operationsFinancial UI Components : Experience with form controls specific to financial applications (currency inputs, account number fields, etc.)Knowledge of Java and Spring Boot desirablePayment Systems : Knowledge of payment processing workflows (domestic / international wires, ACH, RTP) is highly desirableSecurity Practices : Understanding of frontend security best practices for financial applicationsExperience with Jest and React Testing Library for unit and integration testingFamiliarity with Playwright for automated browser testingKnowledge of WCAG standards and accessible UI developmentVersion Control : Git workflow experience in enterprise environmentsCI / CD : Experience with automated deployment pipelines (Jenkins)Understanding of internationalization and localization for global banking applicationsLocation Expectations
The role offers a hybrid / flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.
