PRIMARY OBJECTIVE : The Crocker Art Museum brings people together and connects them in unexpected ways with art, ideas, each other, and the world around them. Responsibilities
- Content Creation and Social Media Management : Serve as one of the Museum’s content creators, drafting written, visual, and video material for external communication channels including social media, website, and blog.
- Ensure content is aligned with the Museum’s brand tone and voice by collaborating with the Marketing Director and Creative and Brand Manager.
- Independently create engaging written, visual, and video content including concepting, storyboarding, and scripting.
- Collaborate with Marketing and other departments to meet priorities through planned and responsive social content in alignment with the content calendar and promotions.
- Craft or repurpose Museum resources to create high-quality content for social media, including planned, scheduled, and live activity.
- Coordinate and execute video projects with support from the Creative and Brand Manager, including talent interviews, videography, editing, and distribution.
- Monitor social platforms, engage with audiences, including social advertising, and provide outstanding community management.
- Optimize videos for engagement with hooks, captions, branding, calls-to-action, and accessibility best practices.
- Foster relationships with local partners, influencers, and the community via assigned channels.
- Assist in developing creative for digital advertising initiatives.
- Monitor performance and optimize content across owned channels using analytics tools in collaboration with the marketing team; surface insights and recommendations.
- Stay informed about emerging platforms and trends and share platform updates with the Marketing team.
- Provide guidance on best practices to marketing team members.
General
Collaborate with Marketing and other departments to ideate, improve, and maximize all Museum content efforts.Support Marketing in proofreading and editing written and designed content, and ensure consistency of information across channels.Work with marketing systems and tools including social platforms, digital ad platforms, website CMS, and project management tools.Maintain awareness of best practices in museum content and communications; surface insights to benefit Crocker programs.All other duties as assigned.Skills and Experience
2-4 years experience in marketing content creation, social media management or related fields.Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple projects while meeting deadlines.Outstanding writing and editing abilities.Comfort with diverse digital platforms including social media, project management tools, and web content management systems.Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, and various photography and videography equipment.Basic HTML experience helpful.Intellectual curiosity and problem-solving ability.Ability to work effectively in teams across departments.Discretion with confidential information and diplomatic skills.Punctual and adheres to scheduled hours.Available to work occasional evenings and / or weekends for live social coverage.Institutional Responsibilities

The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk and / or sit for long periods of time. They must have physical dexterity and the ability to carefully handle objects, as well as ability to lift and move items of various weights and sizes. Positions have occasion to lift and / or move objects of 15-20 lbs.
