ICU RN Job Details

Location : Weirton, West Virginia 26062

Healthcare Setting : Combination ICU (CCU)

Position Type : Travel Registered Nurse

Assignment Start Date : November 25, 2025

Assignment End Date : February 24, 2026

Contract Length : 13 weeks

Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week

Shift : 12-hour night shifts (including weekends as scheduled)

Unit Size : 10-bed ICU

Nurse-to-Patient Ratio : 1 : 2–3

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1910–$2040

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active RN license (West Virginia or compact state)

Minimum 3 years of recent ICU nursing experience

Proficient in balloon pump management

Skilled in ventilator management and IV drip titration

Required certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips

Willingness to float to other inpatient units as needed

Experience troubleshooting respiratory equipment

Must provide a copy of an unexpired driver’s license

ICU Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality critical care to patients with acute conditions such as respiratory distress, post-cardiac arrest, acute myocardial infarction (MI), and those requiring vasopressor support

Manage and titrate IV drips including vasopressors (levo, neo, epi, nitro, heparin, angio, and more)

Operate and troubleshoot advanced ICU equipment : ventilators, balloon pumps, and more

Interpret and monitor telemetry strips for patient safety

Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals

Participate in weekend and holiday rotations as scheduled

Maintain accurate documentation using Cerner Soarian charting system

Adhere to hospital dress code (Navy Blue scrubs)

Complete unit-specific orientation and work with a preceptor
