Veterinary Technician - Shift Leader

About You

The Shift Leader is a veterinary technician responsible for overseeing the hospital flow and ensuring good patient care and client service. They assist in training new employees, assessing current employees on their skillset, and aid in growing their knowledge on an ongoing basis. They work with the leadership team to develop new protocols to assist in maintaining efficiency and time management throughout the patient's stay. They follow through the veterinarians' plans and orders, delegate duties to the surgery / treatment technicians, and assist in all areas of treatment. They check in patients, create and discuss treatment plans, place charges, discharge patients, and discuss home care with their owners. They assist clients with concerns and / or complaints.

Experience & Skills Requirements :

• Veterinary technician licensure preferred
• Has a minimum of 3 years' experience as an emergency veterinary technician
• Has strong leadership skills (judgment, logic, creativity, conflict resolution)
• Strong anesthesia monitoring skills required
• Possesses strong technical skills (Phlebotomy experience required)
• Is self-motivated
• Has excellent people skills (Ethical, diplomatic, courteous, professional)
• Is detail oriented and organized
• Ability to multi-task and adjust and learn in a fast-paced environment
• Are energetic : TEAM players with great communication skills
• Able to fully use their technical skills, as well as, learn from new experiences
• Provide input and assist with all aspects of patient care.
