THE POSITIONCompliance Corporation is seeking an experienced IFF (Identification, Friend or Foe) Systems Engineer to provide IFF systems engineering support to our Naval Air Warfare Center customers and program office sponsors pertaining to acquisition, development, and test of complex shipboard IFF systems comprising both hardware and software.
- ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supports program coordination, development of requirements, requirements tracking, system design & development, and verification and validation testing.
- Performs work in support of the US Navy in the development of IFF Systems.
- Provides design, test and evaluation support for the customer. Develops technical solutions for complex shipboard Interrogator Systems.
- Tasking entails requirements development, design of electronics equipment for military systems applications, and system to platform integration. Leads system performance investigations and resolutions, and conducts DOD AIMS certification planning and execution.
- Participates in programmatic and technical interchange meetings and supports development of work breakdown structures and project schedules, review of technical documents, development of requirements and validation of system performance.
- Position requires working within an interdisciplinary working group of acquisition, engineering, system integration, configuration management / logistics, and other technical professionals.
- Supports NAWC projects and programs at Webster Outlying Field located in St. Inigoes Maryland.
- QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years of professional engineering experience with at least 3 years working with IFF systems
- Proven experience in engineering roles directly related to the design , development and testing of IFF systems with the USN and / or DoD.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of industry standards and safety protocols.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable personnel security determination for a secret security clearance.
- PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting
- Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and / or pull light to moderate amounts of weight 20 lbs.
- Ability to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard
- Ability to verbally communicate to exchange information
- Engaging in repetitive movements of wrists, hands, and fingers typing and / or writing
- Working frequently at close visual range (i.e. preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcription, computer terminal, extensive reading)
