Do you have a passion for teaching Montgomery County Public Schools in Virginia is now accepting applications for high school social studies teaching positions that may become available within our division for the school year.

Please note this is a continuous recruit posting to build an applicant pool for all schools. As positions become available all qualified applicants with complete application files will be considered. Should a specific location / job be posted you may also be required to apply to that posting.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :

To develop and implement an instructional program that will effectively provide the best possible education for each student.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS :

• Hold or be eligible for a Virginia Teachers License with the appropriate endorsement to teach social studies at the high school level
• Develop and implement effective lesson plans and curriculum materials
• Possess ability to effectively assess student learning and use results to plan and implement appropriate instruction
• Integrate technology into classroom instruction to enhance learning
• Utilize Google Drive for instructional purposes collaboration and managing coursework
• Create and maintain an inclusive supportive learning environment that respects the diverse backgrounds and needs of all students
• Communicate effectively with strong written verbal presentation and interpersonal skills
• Engage and collaborate effectively with parents and families
• Collaborate with other teachers and contribute to a positive team environment
• Demonstrate dependability punctuality and reliability in fulfilling responsibilities

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :

FLSA : Exempt

SALARY : $52832.35 - $85613.64 annually with benefits; commensurate with experience (current salary scale may change due to 2025-2026 budget considerations)
