Supervisor, Corporate Accounting

The Supervisor, Corporate Accounting is responsible for overseeing the daily accounting operations and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting in a large corporate environment. This role plays a key part in managing general ledger activities, financial close processes, and compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. The Supervisor will also lead a team of accountants, provide guidance, training, and performance management while collaborating with various departments to support financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting & Financial Reporting:

• Supervise and oversee general ledger accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and company policies.

• Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.

• Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports prepared by the accounting team.

• Assist in the preparation of consolidated financial statements and supporting schedules.

• Ensure timely and accurate submission of financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.

Team Leadership & Development:

• Supervise a team of corporate accountants, providing leadership, coaching, and professional development.

• Assign responsibilities, monitor performance, and conduct performance evaluations for team members.

• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth within the accounting team.

Compliance & Internal Controls:

• Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.

• Support external and internal audits by preparing required documentation and responding to audit requests.

• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Work closely with Finance, Treasury, Tax, and other departments to support corporate accounting functions.

• Assist in the integration of financial systems, reporting tools, and automation initiatives.

• Provide financial analysis and insights to management for strategic decision-making.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification preferred.

• 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.

• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and corporate accounting principles.

• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Workday, NetSuite, or similar).

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, financial modeling).

• Excellent leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
